Marketplace Facilitators - Sales Tax Uniformity Projects

Almost all states have adopted marketplace facilitator laws, which require online platform operators to collect sales tax on behalf of sellers. But the laws are a patchwork of different rules and definitions. In this episode, Matt Hunsaker discusses efforts to promote uniformity, including the Multistate Tax Commission, Uniform Law Commission, National Conference of State Legislatures, and the Council on State Taxation.
